Medicine is in Dr. Indraneel Chakrabarty’s blood as he has several generations of family members who are physicians in various specialties from his father, paternal and maternal grandfather’s, great grandfather’s, great grandfather’s, various uncles, brother, etc. His father is a gastroenterologist and was a strong influence in his life. He grew up in Hemet and went to Hemet High School. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science (BS) in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside (UCR). He subsequently moved to Boston where he lived for 13 years completing his training for his medical career. However, he loves the area where he grew up and saw the need to return and elevate the care in the region, specifically in Gastroenterology. He moved back to Temecula, CA in 2011 to provide Gastroenterology services, including much needed advanced gastroenterology procedures which nobody else provides in the local region. He became the Director of Gastroenterology at Temecula Valley Hospital in 2013.
Dr. Indraneel Chakrabarty provides not only general gastroenterology services such as endoscopy and colonoscopy but also provides advanced interventional endoscopy expertise from endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). He is highly specialized in procedures to prevent, detect, diagnose, and treat complex conditions such as Barrett’s esophagus, gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, cirrhosis, biliary disease, pancreatic cancer, and other gastrointestinal cancers. His knowledge and skills are highly sought after by the regional hospitals, local referring physicians, and internationally. He was the lead consult for the country of Qatar to setup their now successful national colon cancer screening program from 2013-2016. He created Trinity Medical Multi-Specialty Group and a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center, First Surgery Center in 2020. Trinity Medical Multi-Specialty Group and First Surgery Center is Southwest Riverside County’s most advanced Gastroenterology medical center. Its mission is to bring high quality exceptional care without exception to the region. Trinity Medical Multi-Specialty Group continues to grow with new physicians and services. Recently it has added the services of Integrative Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Bariatrics, General Surgery, Pulmonology, Robotic Pulmonology, and Sleep Medicine. His latest project includes starting up a ACGME certified GI Fellowship program in 2023 at Temecula Valley Hospital and is the program director training the next generation of Gastroenterologists.
On a more personal level, Dr. Chakrabarty’s hobbies include traveling, arts, food, music, and cars (mechanical art). He has traveled all around the world, been to numerous music concerts and festivals and is an art and car collector. He has created several paintings and drawings throughout his life.
